Much Needed Update

I have been completely slacking and not doing my blog posts and for that I am sorry! :) Things have been crazy in the Loveday household!!

First off, I started my new job 2 weeks ago and I love it. It has been very challenging and different from anything I have done but I am truly enjoying it. I am currently working from home which has its pros and cons but I like being able to get the work done without distraction.

This past week we had a plumbing fiasco -- I was standing in ankle deep water in our bathroom (wish I had a picture) but luckily we had a plumber come out fairly quickly and the problem was solved. But as I shoveling water from the floor into the bathtub I couldn't help but laugh at the memory making experience!

This past week we had a GREAT snowfall in Columbia! We haven't seen this much snow in a long time so it was very fun to go outside and play and bring the pups!

Well the next couple of weeks will bring some birthdays in our family -- including mine! :) I am halfway to 50 -- that is crazy!

Well, I hope everyone out there in Blog World is doing well -- again, sorry for not updating recently but I will try to get better!

GO GAMECOCKS!!!!

I wanted to make a quick blog post and congratulate Gamecock nation! That basketball game over Kentucky was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Devon Downey is a BALLER!!!! :) It was great to see so many Gamecock fans in one place cheering on our team ... and thank you to the athletic department for not getting mad when the students rushed the court! SO ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT!!

I have posted some amazing pictures that The State had on their website that verify the amazing win!!!!!!

Also, congratulations to Thomas for singing the National Anthem before the game! I heard you were great and that definitely takes courage and talent! :)

GO COCKS!!!!!

Just a little update ...

So I have been having "bloggers block" and haven't been sure what to say! So, I have decided just to give a little update on the Loveday family!!

First off, as I stated earlier I am switching jobs at the beginning of February. This position just fell into my lap but I am very excited. It is with a test prep company and I will be their digital media coordinator. I will be making videos for their website and keeping up with their social media. I have really enjoyed my time at USC (and wouldn't have gotten this job without my experience in admissions) but it is definitely time to go back to what I went to school for.

This past weekend, I had a wonderful girls night with some friends. We cooked dinner and watch He's Just Not That Into You! First off, THANK GOD I am not dating anymore -- I don't know how I did it. During the movie we commented on how many of the "crazy" things we did for a guy. Pretty sure I have called and hung up and done the drive by. Luckily for me, John and I lived across the street from each other for 1 year so I always knew when he was home! hahaha -- let me restate, thank goodness I am not on the dating scene anymore! haha :)

This afternoon I judged the interview round for the White Knoll High School pageant. I talked to the sophomores and seniors. I obviously can't say too much but I do need to say that I heard "I admire my mom the most because she is a single Mom and raised me and my siblings with grace" A LOT! It made me sad to hear so many girls who came from single family homes. My parents are divorced too but I would have never said that my Mom or Dad raised me single-handedly - they did it together. Anywho, they were all amazing girls and can't wait for pageant night.

So even though this week is kind of lame, this coming week I will have a great post! We are going to a comedy club with a bunch of friends and I am judging the Miss Timberwolf pageant. I am sure both of those events will stir up lots of stories!

In other news, I found out some exciting news .... one of my best friends, Brittany, will be living with us for 2 months. I am so excited! We haven't lived together in 3 years so this will be a very fun 2 months! :)

I have also posted 2 pictures on the bottom of the post -- one of my sweet husband (not paying attention to me! :) ) and one of my sweet puppies, Ellie and Bella!

That is all I really have this week -- nothing too exciting but I do hope all of you have a wonderful week! :)

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISSY!!!!!

Good and Relaxing

It was a great weekend for the Loveday family! We saw two new movies, went to the USC Basketball game and tried a new restaurant. On a personal note, I watched the Golden Globes (personal opinion later) and had a dinner date with a girlfriend.

On Saturday night we went to cheer on the Gamecocks at the Basketball game.

Unfortunately, Vandy played a little better than the Gamecocks and we lost by 10. But we had great seats (thanks Jordan) and had a great time. The new restaurant we tried was Al-Amir. It is Mediterranean food and it was SOOOO good! John and I LOVE hummus and they had the best around. Lots of different options to eat and a great atmosphere. They have a wonderful outdoor eating area - so it will be a great place to go when it gets warmer.

So, some personal opinion -- I watched the Golden Globes on Sunday night (you will learn that I LOVE award shows). I thought the host, Ricky Gervais was hysterical and a great choice to keep some good comedy in the program. As for the winners, well, first off, Glee got robbed! Don't get me wrong, it absolutely deserved to win Best Show but Jane Lynch specifically should have won for best Supporting Actress. I was a little bummed that Matthew Morrison got left out but Jane's character Sue, is PERFECT and hopefully won't be forgotten next year. There were a few others that I wouldn't have chosen but overall great winners! Robert Downey Jr gave a great speech but was a shocking win (however, Sherlock Holmes was great). Ok, that is all I will ramble on about! But get excited for the Academy Awards next month! :)

The next two weeks will be hectic for us. I start my new job at the beginning of February, both John and I are taking graduate classes and I am start my judging duties for Miss White Knoll High School next weekend. I am sure I will have fun adventures to share soon! Stay tuned ....

2 Movies - 1 Long Weekend

If you don't already know, you will learn quickly that John and I LOVE going to see movies. We normally go every Friday and then will sometimes go see a $4 movie Saturday or Sunday morning (but that is only if lots of good movies came out that weekend). Anywho, this weekend we saw The Book of Eli and Lovely Bones.

First off, The Book of Eli was a great movie. You really can't go wrong with Denzel Washington. But it is a great story and has an amazing ending that definitely makes you think about your own spirituality and religious beliefs.

This morning we saw The Lovely Bones. (A movie theater in our town has $4 admission if you go before noon - so sometimes we wake up and will take advantage of that deal.) First off, this movie was definitely depressing but was a good story. It was a little long but what Peter Jackson film isn't. It made me think of when I have my own children and constantly being terrified of the crazy people in the world. But, you have to do your best and protect your family to the best of your ability.

I would definitely recommend both movies -- but you will definitely need a specific mood for both. If you aren't in the mood to be sad, do not go see The Lovely Bones!

More fun weekend stories to come soon .....

Thoughts and Prayers

A horrible tragedy has happened to a close friend. Clay and Heather Barnhart (brother and sister-in-law to one of my bridesmaid, Annabell) house burned down yesterday. It started because a cigarette was flicked onto their lawn and it caught the grass on fire. From there it spread to their attic and took over their home. As you can see -- there is not much left.

They were able to save their dog (thank goodness), some clothes and a few pieces of furniture. However, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they try and get through this horrible ordeal!!

Too Much Clutter

So John and I decided to get a storage unit to take out some of the clutter in our house. I didn't think it would be but it has truly made difference. I had NO idea how much stuff we had! Take a look at all the stuff we have stored so far ....

We will most likely find more things to put in there but for now that's it. Now, I can frame some much needed wedding/family pictures and hang them on walls since we have less furniture!

Welcome! :)

So John and I have decided to do a blog so we can keep everyone in the loop of our exciting lives! :) I am making it a New Years resolution to keep up with this so our family and friends who don't live close (or even if you do) can know what is going on in the Loveday house! :)

Come back soon and I will have a new post!!!
